Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
Damandeep means "Dominating Light" and Harmeet means "Friend of God".

A spiritual name can be something to live up to, without question. It can indicate something for you to work towards. And, it can also represent something that you are: I have a friend named Sangeet who is quite a kirtani, for example. She had musical /singing talent as a child, before she converted and adopted this name. So it is, in her case, something that she is.

A name is not a DETERMINANT of one's behavior-- at least not at the level that karms and how one is or is not nurtured can be. There are many who say that the name you are given at birth is part of your karm in this round.
