Dear Baljinder Ji:

Sat Siri Akal!

Wonderful question. As a little background, the first Granth, called Aad Granth, was compiled under instruction of Guru Arjun Singh (5th Guru) and with help of Bhai Gurdas Singh. This original Guru Granth Sahib does not exist, it was destroyed. However, an (old) COPY of that Granth exists at Kartarpur Sahib.

Over the course of time and because of the struggles for our survival, at one point under Guru Gobind Singh, there was no hard copy of Guru Granth Sahib. So, he recited the entire thing from memory. As he recited, Bhai Mani Singh wrote (transcribed). At this time he also added Shabds from 9th Guru Teg Bahadur.
The Guru Granth Sahib that was transcribed by Bhai Mani Singh is called the Damdaami Bir, and it is in Nanded Sahib, in Maharasta near Bombay. Guru Granth Sahib became SIRI Guru Granth Sahib when Guru Gobind Singh conferred the Guruship on it shortly before leaving his body.

So, it depends on what you call original!

Guru Rakha!
