BUT i am just a shell.I dun feel the connection that I use to have with God. I feel like I am avoiding communication with God.Its like I am purposely avoiding God and feel like a hypocrite when I do try to connect with him, as though I only remember him when I am in need. Any advice on how to move on from here?
Thanks

Sat Nam,
I think the problem is that you are trying to connect with Guruji with your head not your inner being. Unfortunately finding a connection the right way requires some work. Listening to lots of Kirtan or singing can be one of the things to do but it has to be something that really moves you, makes your heart chackra start filling with energy. it can't just be done by listening to nice music.
Meditation would be another technique which I think can be a lot more effective because it will help you get directly to the sourse concentrating on your inner being, which is Wahe Guru.
Try finding some yoga and meditation books on Ancient Healing Ways website of www.spiritvoyage.com. You can also try www.kriteachings.org to see is they have something there you maybe interested in. Do some research, pick a meditation that would fit your paticular needs.
Start slowly from 3-9 minutes a day building up your practice to 11 then 25, 31 .... and eventually to 60, 90 or 2.5 hours if you wish. A lot of meditations will give you an experience even if you just do them 3 minutes a day, but if you commit yourself do develop a true spiritual practice then the longer you do it the deeper you will develop your connection with Guruji. I can guarantee that you will be surprised. Comit to doing each meditation from 40 to 90 to 120 or 1000 days if you want to master it.
So here is the answer ... now it is up to you what you would want to do in your life.
Good Luck,
DK
