(REPLY) Sat Nam. Marriage is a sacred contract, ideally never to be broken. There are, however, some circumstances in which divorce is the only solution to problems. Every effort should be made to counsel, to advise, to provide guidance to make the marriage work, but "if all else fails" - there is no prohibition against divorce. Many years ago a Khalsa Women's Camp was established - and still is held every summer in New Mexico to allow wives to spend some time away from home responsbilities, and to learn more of the art of being a woman. Sometimes a temporary separation between helps to bring perspective and clarity to the relationship. SP
