(REPLY) Hair is a gift from God. If you give someone a gift, and they don't appreciate it, how would you feel? Guru Gobind Singh made a special point of listing Kesh - hair, as one of the things a Sikh must keep to identify him/herself as a Sikh! It is a symbol of our respect for God and Guru to keep our bodies as God made us. As a woman you have a great deal of power so long as you maintain your dignity and grace. I hope you will keep your hair to honor God and Guru, and not cheapen yourself by cutting it to suit some temporary "fashion." A woman's hair is her crowing glory -- poets have written poems about it! (Even if you used to trim it, you don't have to do it any more!) SP
