Gurpreet, I just want to say once again, you da MAN! You seem to be pretty thorough about thinking of all the reasons you have about living life the way you are, and I think that is a sign of a level head and a mature attitude. It seems like you have the situation well under control and are just riding happily along in life. Sounds pretty healthy to me. And on top of all that I am sure you are kicking ass in school.

I don't know about anyone else, but I certainly know that you don't have to worry about feeling some sort of mixed loyalty between your old friends and your new friends. You personal decisions in life don't "hurt" the Sikh lifestlye or any of your friends from that background. Yeah, you've known us for longer, but that doesn't mean that you owe us your beard; maybe it just means that we accept
you no matter how many times you shave or grow it back or get a mohawk or whatever. And no, you won't get any added attention or a different attitude from us folks other than these basillion emails (and sorry, it will likely be the same amount of attention from the female ones among us).

My point is, your life is your life, and Sikh Dharma, 3HO, your parents, and your friends are all lucky to have you share your life with them in whatever depth or form you decide to do that. You are not letting anyone down by growing up and learning to make your own decisions. And personally, I am proud of how cool you were in your Boston life, and how cool I am sure you are in your new life. Keep up and be great.

With lots of love and prayers,
"S"
