Hi,

Before I ask my question I want to say that I do not want to offend any one with my question.

I have searched this web site, reading various views on different subject and in some cases do not agree with the responses given. However I would like to say that it is about time that a forum of this kinds was set up to help people who have question about religion and other aspects of their lives.

Any way back to my question ? my question is this although every religion in the world declares that god created earth and everything in it then what was the purpose of creating dinosaurs. I mean what was there purpose on this earth, what did they do and if they had a purpose why were they wiped out. The reason I ask this simple question is because every religion confides to the fact the god created man in his own image so how could god create creatures that were 20 foot big? Is that his real image? Was it an experiment? Is there actually any mention of this in our religion?

There is no written evidence these creatures ever existed in any bible or text, why is this, when we know for a fact that they existed!

Also, I have spent some time studying other religions and hunting around the web for information, but in no religion is there any mention of the solar system and other planets, even any mention of other life forms that may exist, Why is this?

Surely if god is supposed to exist and is the creator of all things then he/she/being would of created beings on other planets and if not then what is the purpose of other planets in the first place.

I suppose these are questions that are asked by many people and may seem a bit silly to be asked in this forum but I am just interested to see what reply?s if any I get from a religious point of view.

Thanks for your time.
(REPLY) Guru Nanak in Japji Sahib talks about the "worlds upon worlds" that God created. I suggest you read the English translation of this bani and see how your questions are really answered there. All life forms are temporary, since the only permanent "thing" is God, the Creator. And the purpose of this precious human life (which took us 8.4 million incarnations in various forms to reach!) is to experience that God within us, to realize that we are indeed "SAT NAM" Anyway, back to dinosaurs: Taking the viewpoint that God created the Universe to experience Himself in various forms, why not as dinosaurs? Possibly others may have something to add to these comments. I also wonder why you would even think that your question would "offend"? This seems a typical apology that I see often on this website, and I just wonder about it. If a question is sincere, why should anyone be offended? Blessings, SP
