Summary of Question:Marriage To Non-Sikh

Sat Sri Akal

I was doing my Ph.D. and fell in love with a Hindu boy who was doing Ph.D. with me. We had friendly relations and enjoyed research and discussing things together and I got teh chance to see him this way for about 4 years. He proposed to me and I accepted. My parents are strict adherents of Sikhi, I know they will not accept this. However, as the guy is also mature, we discussed at length about future reprecussions, but he does not have any problems in making the children sikh nor in me practiciing my sikhism. Likewise, no obligation for me to follow Hindu norms.

I thought for several months on this issue, but he is so nice, that I just cannot take any decision. Even habit wise, he asbtains from drinking, smoking (which normally Hindus do) and also eating meat.

So, what do you advise in this case, its good to go ahead with the marriage, please do advise.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa.

Waheguru Ji ki Fateh.

Dear one,

I suggest you introduce this young man to your family and you get to know his family. Sounds like you are ready to take this next step. No need to hesitate.
It is time to move forward and get married.

Blessings,

SK
