Sat Siri Akaal to everyone!

Is Paath the same as the prayers I recite each morning from the Nitnem? And can a person receive the same spiritual benefit from listening to the prayers as well as from saying them? I would love to find recordings of the prayers and hymns if it is possible; at times I take long bus rides and could really use the serenity. Any insights?

Sat Siri Akal, Elizabeth! Do you read your Nitnem in English? Do the Guru's words penetrate into your heart? There are many tapes and CD's of Gurbani Keertan and of the Nitnem banis and it is wonderful to listen to them, during your bus rides, or even as you fall asleep and wake up. You can find these recordings at many Internet stores. Just do a search on "Nitnem" or "Gurbani."

Both listening and singing are blessed. Enjoy both.

As Guru Nanak Dev Ji says in Japji Sahib:

Listening… saints, heroes, masters.
Listening… the earth, the power, the ethers.
Listening… high and low realms, oceans of light.
Listening… beyond time.
