Surjit Kaur = literally, incarnation. It may be translated to mean incarnation of spirit. Additionally, Sur means tune or melody (as in Gurbani)and Jit means victory.
Surinder Kaur = Supreme Tune (Sur means tune + Inder means Supreme)
Charanjit Singh = Foot for victory/Victory over the foot, literally (Charan means feet + Jit means Victory)
Indarjit = Supreme Victory (Inder means supreme and Jit means Victory). It may be translated to mean Victory over the Supreme or Supreme Victory.
The Jatt family name Rathore means a farmer clan from the Rajasthan area of India.
