Sat Siri Akal

When people eat meat, they are sliding away from their spirtual path. Those who eat meat I believe cannot consentrate on doing Paath. You can find many examples of not eating meat that say that meat is harmful for human body. If meat is a diet of a human then why meat needs to be cooked before you can eat it? I think that no one can eat raw meat because it is not suitable for human stomach. Modern science is telling people that eating meat can cause health problems which is true.

We have some great Saints and Saint-Like people in our time who have reached very high spirtual state in thier life by following Sikh religion and they all were vegetarians. These people include people like Sant Baba Nand Singh, Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh, Sant Attar Singh Mastuana, all of these great Sikhs were vegetarians. Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh in jail was forced by the guards to drink beef soup but he did not drink it and he recieved torture by jail gurards for not doing so. He prefered to stay true to Sikh Rehit and Guru.

These people are the great examples of great Sikhs in our times. I would rather like to listen to Great Gursikhs like these than to anyone who is preaching that eating meat is ok. We people eat meat its very hard for them to do Paath, meat becomes an obstacle in their way because eating meat makes them more matericalistic. When we start doing Paath everyday then we will feel the Spirit of Sikhi then you will find out that eating meat is Right or Wrong.

[Moderator you can post this if you please. Thank you]

Sat Siri Akaal. There are many people on many paths who think that meat-eating interferes with spiritual development. And so, many people, Sikh & non-Sikh, no doubt agree with you. BUT, there are saintly people in this world who DO eat meat. For some it is practically a requirement, such as in Tibet, where the extreme cold and elevation requires ANIMAL fat to sustain the body. We must NOT judge the spirituality of someone by whether or not they eat meat.
