I was wondering if a Sikh can play the Lottery?
Cause wouldn't that be considered gambling?
Thank You for your time,
Sat Sri Akal

Sat Siri Akaal.
Technically, the lottery is a kind of gambling. Sikhs do not gamble. Some Sikhs think that since lottery monies (in USA) support education funds for disadvantaged students, it is not so bad to buy lottery tickets, compared to giving one's money to a gambling house or casino. Guru prohibited gambling because it is not honest work. Sikhs do not beg or gamble; we earn honest livings by the sweat of our brow.
