The Sainchee refers to a book which contains a portion of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib. It can be a full set of 5 books that has entire Gurbani from Guru Granth Sahib. It is not the living Guru itself.

Path from the Sainchee can be done anywhere with respect. You can follow the protocol of putting it on a folding bookstand for proper reading. Since it is not the Living Guru, the full Gurdwara protocol of Manji and chananee is not required. You should take an Ardas before reading. A hukam taken will relate to your self or your family.

If you are using the Sainchee for doing a personal Sehej Path....any observence you do is up to you.....ie.."mud",prasaad, bhog etc.
