Waheguru Je Kha Khalsa, Waheguru Je Ke Fateh:

It has been some time since I last visited the Sikhnet youth forum and after spending the past couple of hours thumbing through hundreds of posts a few thoughts came to mind.

The first thing that struck me is that it would appear that several of the previous moderators no longer seem to be actively participating in this seva. As a result, I have seen, and I may be mistaken, but this forum is increasingly becominga message board as opposed to strict Q &A and some of the responses have baffled me. Take for instance the barrage of questions that have come up concerning the practice of dating....the last time I checked, this was not an acceptable practice for Sikhs.

As was pointed out in a previous posting of mine, which you can find linked below, dating is a western tradition and NOT a Khalsa tradition. This forum should aim to give responses/advice that adhere to the strictest principles of the khalsa rehit. Instead what I am finding, are some, but not all of the moderators saying that this practice is okay (or at least insinuating it). I assure you, it is not. To those youth who have been partaking in such disgraceful and lustful activity, you should stop as you are not doing yourself a favor, nor the Sikh faith. While I am not one to pass judgment, remember that there is one person who will when we leave this earth and that is something that should not be forgotten.

As I mentioned before, I have taken the liberty of posting a link to a previous post where many of the commonly asked questions are laid out very clearly...the moderators of this site would be wise to review them themselves the next time they seek to give advice to my fellow young Sikhs out there...

I highly urge all the youth to print a copy of this above post and print it out. If you have questions about any of them, look through the archived responses on this forum as I'm sure you will find comprehensive explanations as to why the rules are the way they are. Thank you for your time.

Waheguru Je Kha Khalsa, Waheguru Je Ke Fateh!

(REPLY) Sat Nam. THANK YOU! I hope our readers will review previously answered questions as you suggest. SP
