WaheGuru Ji Ka Khalsa WaheGuru Ji Ki Fateh

All moderators on this forum deserve praise beyond imagination! In the long run, it will be you guys who will be given the credit of keeping the flame of Sikhi burning bright!

My Guru's grace, I have been doing Japji for more than 8 months now, daily, without a single day's break (I started on May 1st, 2002). But now I don't do it during Amritvela. Rather, I do it sometimes in the afternoon or at night between 8pm to 11pm sometime. I have lost that courage to get up during Amritvela because of the winter. Also, now I feel I do it more as a ritual rather than as an act of love. I don't feel anything at all within myself while doing it, and my concentration while reading Bani is less than 0%. I start out with a little bit of naam simran followed by Japji followed by Ardas. This takes me more or less 30 minutes. I have been doing this since May 1st. I do not feel anything within myself before or after doing it because it feels more like a ritual now. Please tell me what I can do to make it better.

awaiting your esteemed response!

Wahe Guru Ji ka Khalsa
Wahe Guru Ji ki Fateh!

Sometimes we feel inspired and sometimes we don't. Sometimes we travel to the heavens and sometimes it just feels like a chore. That is fine. The result is automatic when you read Consciously with Attention.

Let go of your expectations and keep up. Recite out loud. Listen carefully to the sound of your own voice. Listen to the rhythm and cadence of the Gurbani. Pay attention. Just keep up, let go and let Guru Ji take care of the results. I hope you are able to start getting up earlier again. It is better to do your banis, but it is best to do amrit vela banis in the amrit vela. The power is multiplied many times.

Guru's blessings to you!

.....G
