HI

i have a few questions.
all of our elders say that GURU ji forgives us for our misdeeds no matter what we do. even MODERATORS have said that. so if GURU JI is going to forgive us anyways then why do our elders stop us from doing what we want and doesn't this statement encourage youth to do whatever they want?
second ,,,if we do things that we are not supposed to do like sex, cut hair, drink etc. or may be hurt ppl on purpose..will GURU JI still FORGIVE US? he may forgive for once but we do this agian and again..i don think guru ji will. IF GURU JI intended to FORGIVE then these three things wud not be sins. i think so. i may be sure.!!
third ,,what kind for karmic obligations are involved when ppl have sex before marriage or outside marriage. i mean what happens when we do somthing wrong ..how does it affect our life and our lives??? i donno if anyone can answer them but i wanted ur opnion. it will be a great help.
AND is there some particular PATH that i can do to get rid on tensions? I MEAN even if i don do it but ppl i really care abt do somthing that they are not supposed to ,,i get tensed and keeps eating me..

thanks
(REPLY) Sat Nam. Yes, God and Guru forgive. At the same time, the law of karma (which God created for creation) has not been repealed, and we create karma for our mistakes and errors (sins) which has to be paid, either in this lifetime or the next. The beauty of Sikh Dharma is that when you follow the teachings of the Gurus, and live righteously, you create good karma , which can overcome a lot of the past. Just remember, every action has a reaction, and that is unavoidable. But if we create positive, divine actions, we will reap benefits. That is why it is very practical to live a decent, pure life. The Rehit Maryada was not set up to restrict us, but to give us guidelines for a happy, fulfilling life -- enabling us to avoid creating the bad karma for which we are bound to suffer. We sometimes think people "get away with" wrong doing, but I assure you, they don't! A clear conscience is a priceless possession. It comes from righteous action, and that is stress free. If you feel yourself stressed, then just become aware that God is breathing in you, and consciously breathe, inhaling thinking SAT, exhaling thinkin NAM. And do this for several minutes every day, until it becomes habitual. Chanting God's Name, remembering the Holy Nam is the practice advices by our Gurus. Use it. Blessings, SP
