Hello. ABout three years ago i stopped eating and was diagnosed with annorexia. It took me about 2 years to recover physically, with gaining enough weight, getting my mestrual cycles, and so on. I am a strong beleiver that the feelings and fear of being fat will always be in my mind. Recently, I cut out alot of food from my diet. I am not eating alot by any means. The other night i woke up and i could not feel my whole body, and i started shaking. I assumed that i was hugary, and went downstairs to get crackers but i couldn't get them down because i was shaking. I had feelings that i was going to die, i felt like i couldn't breath, and i was scared. I felt like my life was over. I finally woke up my parents and they were going to take me to the hospital but i was way to scared to go. I sat on my couch until i stopped shaking. I told my parents i was fine but i couldn't sleep the whole night because i felt like i was going to die in my sleep. At around 8am, I got up out to bed to go to work, and i still couldn't feel my legs or my arms, but later in the day i got feeling back. Now everynight, i have slight chest pains, but i think it could be in my head. I am wondering if this has anything to do with being annorexic? If a person is annorexic does this sort of thing happen? I have not yet went to the doctors and i know that any information said is not true but i am sure that there has been more cases of this. I think it could be anxiety but i was just wondering if this sounds familiar?

THanky-you so much for your help.

(REPLY) Sat Nam. Fear and anxiety are very real and they can cause many physical problems to manifest. You are asking a medical question which we are not qualified to answer. I believe you should definitely seek medical help, as well as counseling. You also might do a search on the internet for Anorexia, get information and possibly join a support group. Your current condition may or may not be related to the Anorexia, so again, I urge you to get a medical check-up. Meanwhile, chant to Guru Ram Das, Lord of Miracles, and read your Banis every day so that you stay in touch with your own soul and have the conscious connection with God and Guru to give you courage and faith. Blessings, SP
