Summary of Question:Saskar On Amputated Leg

My mother's leg is going to be amputated as she has cancer. I would like to know wheather saskar need to be done on her leg or not as my mom is still alive only her leg is amputated.

Sat Siri Akaal. I don't think it matters. Saskar on a dead body is really about telling the spirit that inhabited that body that the body is GONE, and so there is nothing to attach to; the spirit must leave the earth plane. Your mother's spirit is still with her; only her physical leg is going to be amputated. Saskar is not necessary, but I suppose if you can arrange it, it's OK. Since it's cancerous, burning is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of disease elsewhere in the environment.
