Hi,

Regarding the name Singh. It is quite common in India. Alot of Rajputs from Rajistan state have the surname Singh. They are Hindus. The name Singh has been around for thousands of years and has always been associated with brave poeple.

There's even mention of this name in the Dasm Granth where Guruji is decribing a battle between the Pandwas and someone by the name of Karak Singh. Wgo was very powerful and actually defeated the Pandwas. I heard the sakhi in the gurdhwara not so long ago.

However, the Indian film Industry used this name for 'baddies' for a good number of years. (Politics - I'll say no more)
