Why do Nihangs wear so many Kara's, and why r they always big thcik 1's

Nehung Singhs use Kara as a defense and it is part of their 'armour'. My brother is a Nehung Singh, and I can tell you that when I fight with him ;) they are deffinately effective.
Also, it is said that Guruji gave karas also to effect one's magnetic feild with the power of the metal. Many Nehungs believe that Iron is the proper metal to wear because of its positive effect on the body.
