Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh !!!

Thank you so much for this service that you are providing!

Could somebody please tell me which Guru Ji said that "Vaheguru" is the Name that Sikhs chant and meditate on ... ? Was it Guru Nank that said to chant "Vaheguru" ??

To my limited understanding ... Va - Stands for Vishnu Ji (from Sat Yug)
He - Satnds for Hari Krishna (from Treta Yug)
Gu - Stands for Gobind (from Kali Yug)
Ru - stands for Raam Ji (from Duapar)

Did the 'Gu' from Kali Yug come about because of Guru Gobind Singh Ji ...? if so then how could Guru Nanak Dev Ji come up with Vaheguru Ji before Guru Gobind Singh Ji came? i hope u can see where i am getting confused!

Who swapped over the timing of treta Yug and Duapar ? and why ?

Should the 'Gu' not come last in 'Vaheguru' because it is a representation of Kali Yug ?

as u can see i am very confused on this subject. I would be very pleased and much appreciate anybody shedding some light !

Thank you very much for your time

Much love and respect to you

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh !!!!!

Guru Gobind Singh gave the mantra Wahe Guru to his Sikhs. Wahe Guru signifies the Universal Teacher inherent in the entire creation. God is. But God manifests Itself as a Teacher to guide our souls through birth, death and ultimately to the awakening of our own Self. That Teacher is not in one person, nor in one teaching, but it an expression of God that can guide you in many different ways, in many different moments. The Siri Guru Granth Sahib is a form of Wahe Guru as Shabd - as Sound, Word. But that Force is as vast and Infinite as God, itself.

Wahe means "WOW." Guru is taken from two seed syllables: Gu which means darkness, Ru which means light. So Guru is whatever takes us from darkness to light. You know those "Aha" moments you have - when you're stumped by a problem and then suddenly - it's like a light bulb goes off in your head and you see something in a way you've never seen it before? Well - that's the Guru - the Guidance that takes us from darkness to light.

So one way of translating "Wahe Guru" is "How great is the ecstacy of that Infinite Consciousness which takes me from the darkness of my own ignorance into the light of wisdom."

Hope this answers your question.

All love.
