hi,

I was thinking of taking some time out and going to punjab to study the guru granth sahib and learning to do kirtan for a year. what would be your advice and how could i do this? Would i have to find a specific teacher of the guru granth sahib? I have no knowledge of anyone doing this so any advice will be helpful.

There are gurmat colleges in India. Punjabi University also has a dept of Siri Guru Granth Sahib studies. Look them up and start there. You might find ideas at www.sikhseek.com Good luck. Guru ang sang,
