Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

My dear brothers and sisters, my question to you is about Ardas. Although I am not a wonderful person, I always do Japji Sahib, Rehras Sahib and Kirtan Sohila before sleeping. I wanted to ask you about when I do Ardas. Satnam Waheguru Ji has always listened to my prayers and Ardas all the time, but I feel that when I ask for something for myself personally, I don't get it. I pray for my family and for the success and joy of every person in this world in my Ardas daily. Why do I feel that when I ask for something for myself, I do not get it? Also, I hope you don't think I'm crazy, but since I have no friends, I always find myself "talking" or having conversations with the guru, always wondering what God and our Gurus would think of my actions? I would really appreciate any comments and suggestions as to what I should do about all this.

Sat nam. I understand that discomfort level asking for something from Guru. So don't put it in your ardas. Talk to Guru about it the way you describe. Tell Guru what you are choosing, why you want it, and please help you get it if it's alright with him and serves your Spirit and reason for Being! I talk to God and Guru ALL THE TIME. And with practice, you will hear guidance or answer in your heart when you still your mind and LISTEN. (Read the sun-i-ai pauris in Japji Sahib. Learn to listen. Listening is easier in that quiet space after chanting the naam.
There is no reason for you NOT to have friends. You are a beautiful soul I can tell from this query. Start involving yourself in gurdwara seva and youth activities and be open and loving like you are. Start a naam simran group and have peers come over and play music and chant waheguru! You will have friends.
