Summary of Question:	Important Question About Sikh Dyslexics Or Adhd Sufferers?

I have been feeling very down lately, as have found out that I may be dyslexic and or have ADD/ADHD (Attention dificit hyperactive disorder).

I have searched this site and only found one post on dyslexia. I just want to know if there are other sikh people out their with this problem.

What all this means is that I am slow at reading, cannot concentrate on tasks, short memory at 21, cannot remember more than two instructions at time and my parents sometimes say I am lazy but I am not. I could never tell them about my disabilities, as they would not understand and do not want their daughter to be labeled as ADD or dyslexic.

I have not come across any sikhs with problem and am feeling lonely as I cannot relate to anyone, as people I know who are dyslexic are all white and their parents understand them.

Please I need to know their are other out there like me.

Also sadh sangt ji this means sitting down to do patt and concentrate on patt is very difficult, what should I do?

OK-Sadh Sangat - anyone else out there with ADD or dyslexia? I'm sure there are plenty of people - it's just a question of coming forward and finding a way to support each other. There are others out there like you - it is not such an unusual thing in this day and age.


As for having trouble concentrating on path, try this. Rather than reciting an entire shabd or bani, just pick a few words to meditate on. The Mool Mantra, or Sat Nam Wahe Guru. Do what you can and know that what you can do is enough.

Guru is with you and this problem is completely manageable. Find support where you can. Our paryers are with you.
