i am in love with my masis sister in law.

my masi is my moms first cousin. she got married to the girl i loves brother. the girl i love also loves me the same way. her family agress with me but my family doesnt. my family says that lower cast people do this and sikhs dont marry with related by marriage. it says in the guru grunth sahib that we believe in monogamy and that a sikh doesnt marry his or her cousins. this girl is not my cousin but we are related by marriage. my parents liked this girl before they found out that i loved her. but now my parents have taken me away from not only her but also her family. i really wish for my family to agree with her.

i would appreciate your views on this matter.

Sat nam. As far as I can tell, you have no BLOOD ties with this girl. Nothing to keep you from marrying her in that regard, as there is no danger of in-breeding. When blood relations marry, danger of genetic disease and deformity is high due to in-breeding.
Rest is a family matter that you will have to figure out.
Guru ang sang,
DK
thank you.
