Summary of Question:Taking Hukamnama
Category:General Sikhism
Date Posted:Thursday, 6/03/2004 1:53 AM MDT

if you are an amritdhari gursikh & you take a hukamnama and then decide you dont want to go on it, and you dont obey it, are you not a bemukh forever? should you even be called a Gursikh?

---

Didn't God give us free will? There are so many ways to interpret the Guru. One day you may read a hukum and interpret it one way and the next day another. Some times we are not ready to listen to the Guru. Some times it takes time for the heart and soul to absorb what the Guru is telling us and then acting on it comes from within...not from the intellect. GTKK
