hello there. i think you guys are doing an immensely wonderful job so keep up the good work. = ]
i have a couple of questions to ask you that have been on my mind for a long time.hope you have the time to answer. much appreciated.
i am a 14yr old girl living in New Zealand - small country-
we don't have many gurmat camps (only had about 4 as long as i have been alive)and all the katha kars and stuff preach one thing and practice another or they all have different views and i think gets people confused so i was wondering if you could help clear the air a bit.

1)one katha kar said that when GGSJ da parkash is happening and they are taking it to it's resting place , to not matha tek when it goes by because it is disrespectful. is this true?

2)another one also said that it does not say in the GGSJ that we are not aloud to eat any meat, so we should eat it. is this true ? if not can you please give me the passage so i can give to my freinds.

3) this is just my curiosity but you know how the christians think that god made the earth and then made adam and eve and how the chinese beleive that there was a godess on the earth who felt lonely so made people, what do we beleive? i mean how do we think that people came to be? because the evolution theory has many proven facts and more than 60% of people beleive in that theory. i've also looked at some stuff about it and it is quite logical.

4)what happens to us when we die? do we get reincarnated? do we go to heaven? something else?

5)you know how we beleive the GGSJ to be our guru now but is there a possibility that there is a guru like person out there? somebody with the same characteristics im not meaning to be offensive or anything.

6) if guru ji taught us to treat people equally then how come women jathas are not alowed in the darbar sahib?

7) how come god has given many children pain. some are born with haemophilia, some born with Caudal Regression Syndrome etc. please dont say that it's to teach us a lesson because i've heard that from many people. also what lesson is to be taught?

Great questions! Thanks for asking them all at once ;-)

1) It is never disrespectful to Matha Tek to your Guru as he goes by. Never.

2) Our Guru speaks of fanaticism, ritual and blind actions as being without benefits. To eat meat or not is your decision. Please understand what food does in your body and how it is digested. By eating lightly of healthy food, you feel light and blissful. The Guru’s Lungar is the very best food. Make your own conscious decision about what you wish to eat. You don't need to explain it or rationalize it to anyone.

3) No one knows the answer to this question by reading books. It is understood from your own intuition. The universe is constantly being created and destroyed on the micro and macro level. It is an ongoing process that takes place beyond time and space and also within time and space.

4) When the physical body dies, the pranas leave the body. The soul separates from the physical body, protected by the subtle body of light and travels according to its samskars and karmas. It may take another incarnation or it may not. Death is like going home and changing your clothes. It's not a big deal at all. Quite simple, natural and full of joy and love.

5) Understand what a guru is. The Siri Guru Granth Sahib is the embodiment of the Shabd Guru. Gur = the formula. Guru = the giver of the formula. You may have a spiritual teacher, but you have only one Guru. A man may be happy one day, sad the next, angry or annoyed. Our Guru is constant and will give you the same answers whether you kick him or bow to him. Show me a living man who can do that forever!

6) Because some people who make such decisions have other agendas. This will change. Politics is dying and the Panth Khalsa is rising. You are a part of this change! The Guru is calling his Sikhs home to Him. Women will do kirtan and ishnaan seva as they did in the past. Be a part of the change you wish to see.

7) It's not so much about lessons as it is about karmas. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. These sequences and consequences carry across incarnations. Everything happens so that the human can remember his or her true identity and wake up. Things are not "good" or "bad." It is only our limited vision that makes it seem so. Everything IS.
