Fateh,

Since my childhood I have learnt Nitnem and have been practising it for years. I found myself to be in harmony with Nature and was absolutely satisfied with myself. But since about 5 years I suddenly seem to have stopped it. I really want to practise and recite baani but somehow, there are some bad forces within me which stop me from taking the Name of the Guru. Is there a way in which we can ask the Waheguru for Naam Daan. I sincerely want to break out of the worldly desires and Maya and instead am yearning to follow His Path. Can u tell me what negative energies are refaining me to follow His path?? I feel helpless and dont know what to do...

Sat Siri Akaal. Well, you were in the habit, and then must be your life changed and you broke the habit. So start a new habit. Start simple. Maybe one bani a day. Same time, same place. Do it 7 days, then pat yourself on the back and go for another 7 days of consistency. Then add another bani and increase the time you spend doing it. It's simply not going to happen until you make a commitment to yourself to JUST DO IT and then do it. No, I cannot tell you what negativity is keeping you from it. Generally, we call that resistance and it can come from a variety of sources. Frankly, time is part of that, since you need to MAKE TIME FOR GURU in your life. Guru is WHY you are here, so it seems that making time for Guru is the FIRST priority for any Sikh.

This will be MUCH easier if you can get a family member or friend to commit to this practice WITH you. Then you support each other. Guru ang sang,
