my name is Aman and i am 20 year old amritdhari girl, living in CA. my problem is that i am afraid to get married. my parents are trying to get me married and i have said no to every single guy they have looked for me. why i dont want to get married is my parents are always fighting since they been married they have never been happy my aunts and uncles are the same way they fight and never get along and i am always wondering i dont want to end up like that to me life is too short and precious to waste like my parents are doing. to me life is a gift and i want to enjoy it to them it has become burden. pelase help me because i feel i am never going to get married. thank you so much for your help and if anyone else has any input they can give that would be great. my e-mail is [email protected] thank you

I can empathize with you. Marriage is one of the hardest endeavors in one's life. Of couse what we say here on Sikh Youth Forum are only suggestions. You have to examine your heart and soul for what is right for you. 1- You have time. Perhaps you need to wait a while. There is no rush in marriage. Allow yourself to mature some, live some, see the world some. 2- With this maturity and experience, you will have a better idea of what you want in a marriage. 3- Think deeply about what you want...need in a man. Take your time. 4- Its the 21 Century...maybe you need to choose your husband yourself. 5- May it is not your destiny to get married. Maybe you have other things to do first. What are your dreams and goals? Go for them. You have to live your life...not your parents. Allow Guru within to guide you. GTKK
