Hi, I am doing a project on Gurudwaras and their significance or the reason behind their construction in different places. Could you refer to some information such as books, websites,etc.

There is a beautiful book (large book) called "GURDWARAS" in India and around the world by Patwant Singh. Published by Himalayan Books...17-I Connaught Place, New Delhi 110 001

There are historical Gurdwara's and community Gurdwaras. Most historical sight in Sikh history have a Gurdwara built on that sopt to commemorate the happening that took place there. Then there are community Gurdwaras that are built to serve the Sikhs in their neighborhood.

The SGPC and the DPC(Delhi) have web sites which you can search for.
