i am a young teenage boy and, i just wanted to know if it is ok for a young sikh to masturbate alone? is there anything in the guru granth sahib which says that this is wrong? because when ever i am excited i get the urge to do this. sorry for being so blunt, and i hope that this does not offend anyone.

Its not like its a sin or you'll go crazy if you masturbate. But, there are yogic reasons to refrain from masturbating...mainly that the seminal fluid (ojas)in the Third Eye will dry up...which means that it is more difficult to meditate and concentrate. Its subtle but important and powerful. To help manage these horny urges try doing a lot of physical exercise, (you need to sweat),take daily cold showers, and yoga is perfect for this, because it helps you transmit the sexual energy from the lower chakras up to the higher ones. Use that create energy in some other creative endeavor, like painting, writing, etc. Good Luck. GTKK
