Sat Sri Akal,

Mostly we talk about Mann, but what it is, as far as I know it is not the physical part of our body. How it plays an important role in our life. Is it our thinking or something else.

I have always understood maan as the mind, but sometimes it also refers to the heart, in gurbani. It is the thinking/feeling part of us, our consciousness.
