I just want to add little more to your response to what happens after death. Well, after or before death the only way to talk to God is learn the language of Love. God speaks language of Love and He only understands love. Gurbani says:

"Mitth Bolra Ji Har Sajjan Swami Mora"
"Samal Thanki Ji, Oh Kade Na Bole Kaura"

So God doesn't speak in any world language. Only Love. After death you don't talk with God because you can do sinful things your whole life and after death you go up there and meet God doesn't make sense. It's just not that easy to meet God. God is within you. If you can merge with Him/Her while alive, then you can go to SachKhand. Otherwise, you will go to heaven for doing good things and hell for bad things and then pushed back into human life. People might not agree with me with this but you will see after death. Read Bhagat Kabir's Jeevani, Sant Harnaam Singh Rampur Khere Wale, Sant Attar Singh, Baba Nand Singh and Bhai Rama SIngh. They all explained it this way. I hope you all are familiar with these names. Gurbani says hell exists but only for those without True Guru. Hell and heaven are for those who are without parents because then Dharam Raj becomes their parent. But we as Sikhs have father Guru Gobind SIngh Ji and Mother Mata Sahib Kaur JI. Guru Ji will take care of us and He does.
