Summary of Question:Iron Kara?

Sat Nam.

The fellow who wrote on "My meaning of the kara" mentioned wearing one of pure iron.

I am allergic to a lot of the cheap metal stuff out there. I tried to get someone to make a kara of stainless steel, but that fell through with the cutting of art funds to the local university. Anyone know how or where I can get a kara of straight iron? I am so tired of blisters on my wrist, and painting the inside of a kara with nail polish as some have suggested seems disrespectful to me. I am willing to do overseas mail order if this is what it takes.

Many thanks!!!

Elizabeth

Sat Nam, I too have the same problem as you. 30 years ago, I ended up machining karas made from 404 aircraft grade stainless steel for me and my wife. Perhaps you can find a machinist will to do that for you as well, or someone else may chime in here and give you another source for stainless or sarb loh karas. Since wearing the karas I made on the lathe, neither my wife nor I have had any problems at all with skin irritation.

I'm pretty sure that Ancient Healing Ways has iron karas. Their FAX is 505-747-9718.

I hope this is helpful. GTKK
