SSA Preeti Ji,
i completely agree with you that an Amritdhari Singh Or even and individual Sikh should not use his/her caste or surname. Actually taking Amrit or keeping the hairs and beard intact does not make a person a Sikh or Singh. Sikhism is a way of living, it's a philosophy, it's the path upon which a Sikh or Singh should live his/her life. So if a person resembles a Sikh or Singh or does activities that resembles the practices in Sikhism does not make his/her a true Sikh or Singh. But unfortunately we people are still pursuing the caste system. Guru Nanak Dev Ji had really worked hard for the upliftment of the downtrodden but today people do not try to a thought in his preachings.
"MANAS KI JAAT SABHEY EKEY PEHCHANBO" clearly states that all humankind are equal so i dont understand where the concept of castes and surnames comes in Sikhism.

Thanks and Regards,
Gagandeep Singh
