Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa

Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

I read the post 'Best way to do Simran' and the Moderator who replied to that question wrote this, "3. There is NO shortcut. First of all, dasam dwar is nothing to mess around with, you don't want to develop it too fast; you can go crazy if you do. Seriously! Let Guru bring YOU there, don't push the door down!"

Can you please tell me what you meant when you said that 'u dont want to develope it too fast or you can go crazy, dont push the door down' how can we develop the dasam dwar too fast?? and if we do in what way can we go crazy???! i mean what kind of effects are of this kind of crazyiness u speak of??

Please explain
thankyou very much guys u guys do a great service and may Waheguru Ji bless you so much thanks
fateh!
(REPLY) Sat Nam. I believe (though I did not write the reply to which you refer) that the moderator was simply trying to tell the questioner not to be fanatic, and to meditate reasonably, not to overdo it. A balanced life is extremely important for us all. We are not ascetics nor renunciates who sit in caves and recite mantras for hours and hours! The Sikh way is to remember God's Name - ideally with every breath, while going about our daily duties. Trying to stay conscious and aware of God all the time. This is, of course, quite a challenge, so of course we want to spend time every day (preferably in the Amrit Vela) sitting quietly and chanting God's Name with out any distractions. I would also have recommended dividing Wa Hay Guru into three syllables! (not four) ( "g'roo" being pronounced almost like one syllable.) The thing to avoid is pronouncing it rapidly over and over sounding like "Whyguru" which some people have done. To be most effective one needs to know that technology for chanting. Eventually, at the moment of death we want the "tenth gate" to open, but nothing needs to be or should be forced. It will happen naturally, if the person has created the habit of remembering God's name during life, so that when the time comes to return to Akal Purkh, the soul will leave the body through that dasam dwar. Meanwhile, again, I think that the phrase "going crazy" was really meant to remind us to avoid imbalance and fanaticism. I hope this helps. Blessings, SP
