sat sri akal!

Can someone please explain to me what Guru Ji is trying to say in these two lines? I am somewhat lost. pg 763.

ti-aagayN man kee mat-rhee visaarayN doojaa bhaa-o jee-o
Abandon the intellectual pursuits of the mind, and forget the love of duality.

i-o paavahi har darsaavarhaa nah lagai tatee vaa-o jee-o.
In this way, you shall obtain the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan; the hot winds shall not even touch you.

Thank You so much!

The first line is referring to the mental games we play with our selves. The mind is like a swing. It will swing in any direction we allow it and attaches it self to a lot of duality. Duality is anything that keeps us from our higher self. For example, "I don't feel like going to Gurdwara today. I have so much work to do. My boss is depending upon me to get this done today. It is too cold out anyway. I can't afford to get a cold and miss work. I'll go next week when I have more time and it will probably be warmer." Our mind can take us into all kinds of circles and distractions from joining with the Guru. These distractions are the "hot winds," which keep us from experiencing the "darshan" or blessing of merging with the Guru. The Guru is not talking about using our intellect and developing it, like in getting a good education. It is talking about the mind that we allow to be a distraction from Truth. I hope this clarifies the lines for you. Of course, this is my interpretation. Blessings. GTKK
