Summary of Question:Why Suffering For Only Few

The different spiritual traditions of the world are unique

expressions of common themes.I feel it is like lots of rivers
running into the sea of TRUTH each having something valuable to
offer us. Allowing people of differing cultures and temperments to
approach THE ULTIMATE BEING in a way they are comfortable.
When we were a child we had no concept or understanding of the
world around us we were unable to live in the world without adults
to care
for us. As we get older we developed ideas to cope with the world
around us. We construct a complex picture of the world so we can
function in it. We begin to believe our ideas are based in fact and
we lose our sense of wonder and mystery . Spirituality can help us
retain the wonder of childhood .I do not feel it is important to
acquire profound ideas of religion or spirituality for i feel that
clutters up our consciousness and distract us from being aware of
awareness itself. If we say the word food it does not feed us and in
the same way i feel trying to find all the answers does not
spiritually feed us.
You talk of suffering i too find that hard to comprehend i see
people who experience loss of loved ones and illness how can that
be right? Though i feel suffering has to be experienced as part of
life. we come into the world and have to leave it. but i to
find it hard to see sorrow. i meditate each day and pray.i will
never know the answers but i am comfortable with that now.It would be so great if I have answers to all this . Please do help me.

(REPLY) Sat Nam. As Sikhs, we are very blessed in that we can experience a direct connection with God and Guru by reciting the words of Siri Guru Granth Sahib. We understand that life on Earth is a temporary stop on the journey of the soul where we have the opportunity to pay off our karma (even out the actions and reactions we created in past lives) and recite God's Name so that we can go Home to God when the breaths alloted to us in this lifetime have been used up. Suffering and happiness, joy and sorrow are part of the human condition. All of it is temporary. Ultimately, the reality is that intellectualizing about things will never solve the riddle of life. Guru Nanak has explained the meaning and purpose of life so beautifully in Japji Sahib. Recite his words and you will be blessed! Understand them and you will be comforted. SP
