Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh.

I have a friend who has cancer, she doesnt have long 2 live..wot paath shud she do or meditate on?
(REPLY) May God bless you friend, and give her courage and faith in this time of test and trial. If she can read all the banis every day, that is ideal. Rehiras Sahib is what I was told to recite when my mother was dying a few years ago. I hope that your friend can have a CD playing going 24 hours a day with Gurbani Kirtan, and particularly shabds about Guru Ram Das. I also hope that your frind understands that death is "going Home" -- back to God. Everything comes from God, and everything must return to God eventually. It is hard when the return trip is through disease. However, even death only occurs when God takes back the pranas - the breath of life -- that we have been priviled to use to experience God's Creation. Let your friend meditate every day on "Wa-hay Guru" synchronizing each breath with the mantra -- so that it becomes her habit to call on Wahe Guru and then she will be carried home safely at the time of leaving the body. And of course you know that when she does leave the body, you chant AKAAL at least 3 to 5 times, and do an Ardas. There is information on the link here on Sikhnet to VICTORY AND VIRTUE that describes the things to be done when a person dies, to help the soul reach Home to Akal Purkh -- Wahe Guru. blessings, SP
