Summary of Question:Love Is God
Category:General Sikhism
Date Posted:Thursday, 2/07/2002 10:20 AM MST

I 've been to some postings and it said that the true love is only with waheguru and all other loves die.

I mean people say LOVE NEVER DIES?
So does that mean the love with wife, kids, mom, dad is not worthy?

does sikhism says "Love is God" ?
PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS AS I WANT TO KNOW THAT ISN'T LOVING THE THINGS CREATED BY GOD ALSO LOVING GOD.

Yes, God is love. There is no disputing or discussing love. You cannot fall in and out of love. Love is endless and it is a state of being. When you live in love, you are always in love. There is no where else you can be.

I think that the confusion you experienced from reading some postings here is perhaps a confusion between love and attachment.

They are quite different. Attachment is need, desire and dependence. Attaching yourself to anything except the Infinite, will lead to pain. That is why Guru Ji always reminds us that mother, wife, sons and daughters all pass away and that all earthly things melt away like a mud wall in the rain. In the end all that remains is Naam.

Love is always unattached, free, deep and forever.
