Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh!

I would like to know the meaning of 'rahao'

As far as I have heard, the meaning is as follows:

The literal meaning of Rahao is Pause.

Thats all right but some people also say that the rahao pankti serves as a heading for what follows it. or in gurmukhi is we say: Rahao to age wali panktian , rahao wali panktiyan which samondiyan ne.

I have checked this with some panktis of Gurur granth sahib and found it true.
e.g Page 693 (tera naam rudo roop rudo)
Page 828 (aisi kirpa mohe karo .. santha charan hamaro matha)

So I would like to that is this what i have heard, is true. Or there is some other meaning i.e inner meaning of rahao.

Please answer or kindly refer me a resource where I can know more about it.

You are correct, as above. As a rule, the 'pause' within a shabd is for the reader/listener to consider what was said just before the pause. After the pause, the rest of the shabd expands on the concept introduced before the pause.
