thats great that you asked about why womens are notleading with sikh men in prayer. well because we are never given the chance to. sikh relgion treats womens and men equal it does not mean that sikh followers do. my sister and i are both amratdhari and we are very active in the situation in our local gurudwara but if the men just move out of the way for the womens to do something they would. we give speeches and do path and lead the sikh children school.lead in a prade. but we are always being pushed down by men. some indian mens are very stubrn they just dont know it. i am just saying dont ask the woemns why they are not in front with men ask that to the men.

Greetings and blessings to you in the Name of God and Guru.

You did point out that there are some arenas where we are welcome to lead and others where we are not. The men needing to be in the forefront is a very cultural orientation. This will change.

However, until that day comes, you do not have to fume silently nor get into the same competitive mode to compete for the "Ardas" etc. Have you noticed the men jockeying each other for power in the Gurdwara structure? No need for us to go there.

Remember the example of Guru Teg Bahadur sitting in his basement meditating for 27 years in Bakala, while all the Baba's in the town made claim to the throne of the Guru. Use your time now to go deeply into your meditative mind and see that all are God doing all this play. You will have the real experience of this prayer. This experience of prayer is something that you can master and teach in the REAL sense of being radiant light of the God consciousness and your presence will work for you.

Take the time now to dive into your intuitive power and grace:
1.start practicing your ardas & hukam at home daily and expand your relationship with the Siri Guru Granth Sahib
2.educate the children in your experience of Ardas & Hukam. They accept the leadership of women.
3.ask for a day each month where the youth/women lead all the functions of the Kirtan program in your Gurdwara
4. accept this challenge as a gift of God. This will bring you depth, understanding and the sensitivity to know that the other person is you...All this will serve you and embellish you for the day that you are called upon to lead!

God bless you and the women of this world to lead this world to PEACE!
