After reading a response on "Kesh, Keshi and permanent Hair removal methods." dated 12/28/2000, I realized that the information that this writer gave the person was incorrect. The writer asked if it was okay to do a permanent hair removal before taking amrit so that she wouldn't have to worry about it after she was baptised. The writer gave two contridicting answers. First the writer states that "we do not remove hair from any part of our body" and later states that "facial hair does not belong on the face of a woman." I totally disagree with this latter view. If facial hair does not belong on a woman then why is it there? it's there because Vaheguru put it there and anyone who is thinking about taking Amrit needs to understand the reason for keeping the hairs intact. This is a command of the father of the Khalsa nation and anyone who breaks this vow has broken their Amrit. Personally I believe that doing laser surgery to permanently remove hair on the face before taking amrit is cheating. It's taking the easy way out. It's the hair on the face that gives you the strength in a society where women are literally obsessed with their outer appearance. I do not agree with the viewpoint of this writer. I believe that he has mislead the youngster that wrote in about this issue.

I agree with you. Unless there is a pathological condition, hair should not be removed.
