I was skimming through your question and answer sections, and I saw a question about ether. In the response the following statement was made : "If the body was not balanced with fire, then we could not digest our food". Please expand on that.

Fire is the element or tattva of the navel center, which includes the digestive tract. As you know, fire literally consumes that which it comes in contact with. So think of the tattva of fire as consuming the food in your stomach. If the fire element is out of balance or not working, digestion will be off/poor or impossible.
