Summary of Question:Re: Prayers Not Answered

Is it safe to assume that most prayers are not answered because nowadays people pray because they think that it is the right thing to do. Since our lifestyles have become more mechanical, most people have lost focus on religion and spirituality. Therefore, when we pray, we do it as a formality or a ritual to be fulfilled and not from the deepest of our hearts. I feel that God only answers prayers that are uttered from a sincere and a truthful heart.

Sat Siri Akaal. No, that is not a safe assumption, although I personally agree that prayer from the heart is the Truest communication with Waheguru. You see, some prayer is better than NO prayer at all, even if it's mechanistic. It is still a vibration directed to the Creator, with or without heart. What we must all remember is that Guru gives us exactly what we need (whether we agree with Guru or not) and that our prayers are often answered in somewhat roundabout ways and on Guru's timetable, not ours. There is another old saying: be CAREFUL what you pray for, you just may get it! Guru ang sang,
