Dear my fellow friends at sikhnet, I?m extremely pleased with all your seva in helping the youth, it really does please me.

Anyways, if you answer my question, you may change my life on a gigantic scale.
My name is Sunny Singh and I?m living in the difficult age of 15, my search for God has started and I want to be living like the khalsa, but it is a very difficult thing for me to do. But still im trying my hardest to reach that place in the end, I just want help and I don?t know where to start.
I come from a very non-religious background where my both Punjabi parents aren?t very interested in God like I am. I want to do many things but on the top of my want list, is to feel love for God, and I don?t know how to do this and where to start, can you help. I want my love for God to be so strong, that I will never forget him while im enjoying myself in playing video games or anything like that. Got any advise to help or any suggestions. If its my ego, then how do I destroy it. Becoz science has a very big part to play in my life, I learn it at school everyday and it make sense sometimes and that congures up doubts about Gods existence, I want to be so Godly so that I don?t listen to science and only listen to the truth. I?ve read the guru granth sahib and I know that it?s the truth but my mind don?t except it and it continues on being desirous caring about maya instead of the truth, nobody can underestimate the stupidty of myself, I mean how can I let maya control me, its not true. Sikhism is the greatest religion because of the warrior image, I can never be a warrior until I have ultimate love for God. Got any suggesction or advise to help me get closer to God?
Please may you kindly answer my question, it would be a great honour to get answered by a sikh.
Waheguru ji ka khalsa
Waheguru ji ke fateh

(REPLY) Sat Nam. No one can change your life but you, yourself. The pull of maya is very strong on all of us. That is why Guru gave us tools to use to remind us as often as possible of the reality of God and Guru. Yes, God is real, if you doubt that, then try to imagine where your breath comes from? And how come even if you are in a coma,so long as God decides to keep you alive, you keep breathing? So, that's one thing. Love of God comes from experience. God lives inside you. You need to meditate and go within yourself to have your own relationship with God. Reading your banis every day will help you to develop a strong relationshp with God and Guru. You say you read Siri Guru Granth Sahib, well, keep up! Pray for guidance, and call on Guru Ram Das, the Lord of Miracles to give you the guidance you need. You don't hve to run away from the world to be "spiritual" - but rather continue to consciously bring spirit into everything you do -- as much as is humanly possible. You are on the right track with your intention and aspiration. the more you read Siri Guru Granth Sahib (read the English translation to get the meaning, too.)the more eerything will come into proper perspective in your life. Faith moves mountains, otherwise, even rocks are heavy. Don't give up, continue your studies, but balance your life with meditation in the early morning hours (between 4 and 7 am - the Ambrosial hours) by chanting God's Name at that time. Blessings with love, SP
