Summary of Question:	Remembering God Before Committing Suicide

I know that if a person remembers god right before they die, they will attain liberation from life and death. But what about a person who contemplates on god right before they kill themselves, will they still be liberated?

Sat Siri Akaal. The simple answer to your question is no.
Suicide is a crime against the gift of body & soul. It is God's business--or hukum--through the soul, as to how and when a person dies. Suicide goes against this hukum. Yogi Bhajan taught that instead of liberation, the person who takes his/her life STARTS OVER, all 8.4 million lifetimes.
I do not know of any shabd that discusses this topic SPECIFICALLY. But the Siri Guru Granth Sahib is full of bani that amplifies the 2nd pauri of Japji (Hukumee hovan akhar, hukum na kehiaa jaa-ee) which discusses that all are subject to God's hukum. The answer to life is NOT death to escape one's troubles, it is meditation on the naam to get you through them.
