Satsriakal Ji,

I am a mona sardar in the UK. I wear a Kara, but it gives me a heavey rash on my arm, what am i meant to do? I want to wear my kara so that i rember all das Gurus all the time, i really want to keep it on. What Can I do?

My other question is are Sikhs allowed to go out people before marriage? I am not sure, i hope you can help me.

My last Question is that Guru Nanak Dev Ji said that we shouldnt be greedy for money as we cannot take it up so why should we wear the Panj Kakke if we cant take them up with us? And if Sikhi stresss Equality why do Men and Women sit on seperate sides of the Gurdwara Sahib Ji?

Please Help Me!!!

Sat nam. Some karas include nickel sulfate/steel metals and these cause rashes. Look for a new kara that is PURE stainless steel. It's usually got a brighter shine than the nickel/steel versions. If you still get a rash from pure steel, try the iron ones or find one made of sterling silver plate or gold. More expensive I know, but some people are indeed allergic to standard kara metal.

Please search this youth forum under love and marriage for dating questions. We have answered this question often often often. Not again...

Split of women and men in the gurdwara does not indicate inequality at all. Think about it. Women on one side, men on the other, guru in the middle. Seems to me we're equal. Where we see inequality is the still-too-common practice of men only serving as granthis or panj or the like.

The 5 Ks are to remind us of who we are. They become part of us and are burned with us when we die. That does not mean they go with us, but it does show that they are part of us.
Guru ang sang,
