Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa

Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

Hello sikhnet, i have a question, as we all know, HAR, HARI, RAM, HARAY are actually names of VISHNU, Guru Nanak always told us the sikhs in his many shabads to recite HAR, HARI, RAM and etc which is attributed to Waheguru, i am really confused because this means that the Waheguru mantra which we are reciting is actually referring to VISHNU, how could this be possible since our Gurus have always rejected the Hindu Teology on Vishnu, Brahma and Shiva. Could any shed some light on this?

Thanks!

REPLY

Guru Nanak taught people to reject meaningless ritual, hypocrisy, the social injustices of the caste system, the degradation of women, and the practices in religion and society that were not true and uplifting to people. Guru Nanak also honored many saints of different religions and included their teachings in the Siri Guru Granth Sahib. In Kirtan Sohila Guru Nanak says there are six schools of philosophy, six teachers, and six sets of teachings, but the Teacher of all is the One Lord, who appears to us in so many forms. Guru Nanak recognized the truth in different religions and he also recognized we are all created by One God, Ek Ong Kar, and the creation and the Creator of all are one. Sat Nam. God bless you! -GMK
