waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!!!

i cant seem to get anything in my head when i study, then when i have my exams i always tend to do bad!

(REPLY) Sat Nam. One of the best ways to develop the power of concentration so that you can study effectively and do well in your exams, is to spend time every day meditating, so that you gain control of your mind. the mind wanders, and you have to deal with thousands of thoughts with every wink of the eye -- but meditation helps calm the mind. The mind follows the breath, so you might start with a breath meditation. Sit with your eyes closed, and breathe long and deep and every time you inhale think SAT and every time you exhale, think NAM. Breathe only through your nose, as slowly as you can, trying to bring the breath (the prana, which is God's gift to you) down deep into your abdomen first and then let it fill your chest and neck as you inhale. When you exhale, try to do it slowly, and completely empy out before you inhale again. Best time for meditation is before sunrise, but you can do this anytime. Just allow yourself a time and place where you won't be disturbed, and try to do this for 11 minutes. An additional help in clearing your mind of distraction is to faithfully read your banis every day. Let the sacred words of the Guru fill your mind and prepare it to deal with studies and everything else in life, with wisdom. Chanting Gurbani Kirtan is also another way to feed your mind the spiritual vitamins, so that it becomes strong! Blessings, SP
